Rosengarten, Latemar and the other Eggental mountains and their majestic beauty will be with you every step of the way. If you are looking to spend an active winter holiday in natural surroundings, with the extra dash of excitement that comes from a challenge, we have just the thing! This year, the romantic charm of an Alpine winter and the adventurous side of sports come together in the dreamy setting of the Eggental Dolomites, in South Tyrol. Up for the challenge? Set off for Obereggen in search of the "Eye to the Dolomites", a walk-in installation on the Reiterjoch pass commanding a gorgeous all-round view
Visit one of the Eggental area's main architectural highlights - the Oberholz hut in Obereggen - an Instagram-worthy photo both inside and out.
Take a trip to Carezza and take an amazing picture of two world-famous giants: Mt Rosengarten blushing in the evening alpenglow and Latemar reflecting majestically in the Karer See lake waters in the summer months.
Step into the legendary kingdom of King Laurin in Carezza! You won't be able to see the dwarf king's invisible rose garden, but if you keep your eyes peeled, you might spot the "invisible" cable car mountain terminal that was inspired by this well-known local legend.
Here in the Eggental valley, we take good care of our environment. Would you like to help us preserve our natural landscape? Then forget your car for a couple of days and take advantage of your complimentary Guest Pass to reach the ski slopes comfortably by bus. Okay, this is the last challegne, but it will feel more like a reward in its own right. After so much exploring, it's time to take a well-deserved break at one of the cosy huts in the local ski areas and treat yourself to the specialities of the South Tyrolean cuisine. Don't forget to take pictures!
The Eggental Winter Challenge is open to all winter sports buffs who book their accommodation in the Eggental valley at one of the many affiliate establishments. If you have an explorer’s soul and a sense of adventure and discovery, you’re welcome to join!
It’s really up to you! You are free to book your Eggental holiday and enjoy this challenge at any time you prefer during the winter season, i.e. from December through to March. When you start, you have ten days to complete all the six steps that make up the Eggental Winter Challenge. Are you up for it?

Holders of the Mountain Pass can use 17 lifts in the heart of the Rosengarten, Latemar and Schlern/Sciliar any three or five days within a period of seven consecutive days.
