Guest Pass South Tyrol

Use public transportation and explore Eggental and South Tyrol the relaxing way!

With the aim of protecting our valuable world heritage site, public transport services in the Eggental have been expanded.
The Guest Pass South Tyrol will be available exclusively to all guests of member establishments of the Val d’Ega Tourism Boards, allowing them to use public transport free of charge and without restriction – both in the Eggental and throughout South Tyrol!

Public transport

IMPORTANT: The Südtirol Guest Pass must be validated at the blue validation machines on the bus or at the train stations before starting each journey. Is is validated by scanning the QR-Code.

Regional und Regional express trains (R, RV & RE) within South Tyrol and to Trento

  • Brenner railway: Brenner - Bolzano – Trento
  • Bozen/Bolzano – Meran/Merano
  • Vinschgau/Venosta valley railway: Meran/Merano – Mals/Malles
  • Puster/Pusteria valley railway: Brixen/Bressanone – Bruneck/Brunico – Innichen- Vierschach/S.Candido-Versciaco

  • Bicycle transport: A day bicycle ticket is required to take bicycles with you. Bikes can only be taken on regional trains and buses with bike racks for a limited number of bikes. Further information: here

Guest Pass South Tyrol goes digital

The South Tyrol Guest Pass is now even more user-friendly as the ticket is available digitally: a flexible ticket that can be downloaded to your smartphone in PDF format, inserted into a virtual wallet or printed out. And best of all: the digital Guest Pass can be applied for at your accommodation even before you arrive.

Can I use my South Tyrol Guest Pass for travelling to and from my accomodation?

Yes, the South Tyrol Guest Pass can be used for travelling to and from the accommodation.

Public transport (bus, train, cable car) of südtirolmobil is included.

Long-distance trains (e.g. Railjet, Frecciarossa, Eurocity) are excluded.

Note: The South Tyrol Guest Pass must be validated before each journey. There is no need to validate the ticket again when changing trains.

Can I tak emy bike with me on public transport?

A day ticket is required to take your bike with you.

Bicycles can only be taken on regional trains and buses with bicycle racks to a limited extent.

Can I take my dog (or other animals) with me on public transport?

Yes, animals are allowed on public transport, but certain rules apply:

Small pets, that are carried in a suitable transport bag or box, travel for freeGuide dogs for the visually impaired also travel free of charge.

Larger dogs or other animals that are not in a carrier must be kept on a leashwear a muzzle, and require their own ticket. The following ticket options are available:

  • Single ticket: €2.00 (for one ride)
  • Day ticket: €3.50 (for unlimited rides on the same day)

When is my South Tyrol Guest Pass valid?

The South Tyrol Guest Pass is linked to the period of stay and is valid from 00:00 on the day of arrival until 23:59 on the day of departure.

Which public transportation is not included in the South Tyrol Guest Pass?

The Südtirol Guest Pass is not valid for the use of special lines such as Nightliner, long-distance trains (e.g. Railjet, Eurocity, Intercity, Frecciarossa, Italo) and Alpine lines (e.g. Alpe di Siusi Shuttle 10, 11, 12 and 439, 442, 444 in summer).

How do I validate the South Tyrol Guest Pass?

The South Tyrol Guest Pass must be validated at the start of each journey. It is validated by scanning the QR code at the blue validation machines. For train and cable car journeys, the South Tyrol Guest Pass must be validated before boarding. An ‘OK’ on the display and an acoustic signal confirm successful validation.

There is no need to validate the ticket again when changing trains.

The Südtirol Guest Pass is valid without validation on VVT Regiobus 273 Mals-Pfunds/Kajetansbrücke, 335 Moos i.P.-Obergurgl and on PostBus Switzerland 811 Mals-Müstair/Grenze.

What does the South Tyrol Guest Pass inlcude?

The South Tyrol Guest Pass entitles you to use südtirolmobil public transport.

How do I get my South Tyrol Guest Pass?

The South Tyrol Guest Pass is issued by participating accommodation providers at check-in or pre-check-in and provided by email.

The email contains the Südtirol Guest Pass in digital form (as a mobile website or PDF), which can be added to the wallet.

Please note: The South Tyrol Guest Pass is not available for purchase.

What is the best way to plan my journey by public transport?

You can plan your journey by public transport in South Tyrol via suedtirolmobil.info and with the südtirolmobil app.

Is the South Tyrol Guest Pass available for purchase?

The South Tyrol Guest Pass is exclusively issued by participating accommodations and is not available for purchase.

If a Mobilcard for 1, 3, or 7 days is needed, all the necessary information can be found on the website of suedtirolmobil.
